MCP Servers
Mapbox provides four Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, each targeting a different use case. MCP is an open standard for connecting AI tools with external services — these servers let AI assistants call Mapbox APIs directly in response to natural language requests.
Mapbox MCP Server
Exposes Mapbox web services APIs — directions, isochrones, geocoding, place search, and static map images — for use in AI chat clients and agentic applications. Also includes a suite of offline geospatial tools (distance, area, buffers, intersections, and more) powered by Turf.js.
Mapbox DevKit MCP Server
Provides AI coding assistants with direct access to Mapbox developer APIs: style management, access token creation, map feedback retrieval, and GeoJSON tooling. Designed for developers building and iterating on Mapbox-powered applications with AI-assisted coding tools.
Mapbox Docs MCP Server
Gives AI assistants full-text search across all Mapbox documentation and the ability to retrieve complete documentation pages. No Mapbox access token required.
Mapbox Figma MCP Server
Puts real Mapbox maps inside Figma. Renders maps straight into a design file, positions routes, pins, and travel-time areas on top of them, and builds working map applications in Figma Make. Added from the connector list in Figma, not from an AI assistant's configuration file.
