Video: Create a data visualization in Studio

This video tutorial shows you how to use the Data visualization component in Mapbox Studio to create a data visualization. This tutorial uses the Data-driven circles visualization type.
Getting started
- 0:00 - Log into Mapbox Studio and use the Monochrome template to create a new style.
Add the component
- 0:20 - Add a new component and select Data visualization.
- 0:30 - Add a data source. You can use sample data in
examples.d8qlxual
. - 0:50 - Click Select visualization type and make a selection.
- 1:03 - The component will smart-style your data to create a visualization.
Fine-tune a visualization
- 1:12 - You can fine-tune the visualization properties in the Data visualization component panel.
Fine-tune circle sizes
- 1:19 - Change the data field driving the circle size by clicking the data field next to Size and selecting a new data field.
- 1:34 - Add, delete, or change the data stops for circle size.
- 1:46 - Change the size of the circles with the Adjust sizing slider.
Fine-tune circle colors
- 1:59 - Change the data field driving the circle color by clicking the data icon next to Color and selecting a new data field.
- 1:34 - Add, delete, or change the data stops for circle color.
- 2:11 - Change the opacity of circles with the Opacity slider.
- 2:17 - Change the circle stroke with the Stroke toggles.
- 2:34 - Turn labels on or off with the Labels toggle.
Optional styling
- 2:57 - Change the color palette in the Color panel.
- 3:03 - Add a Satellite imagery component.
- 3:13 - Set the Satellite component to display Black and white.
- 3:20 - Click Publish to publish your style so you can share your visualization.
