# monthly active users

The Mapbox Maps and Navigation SDKs for iOS, Android, or Unity are billed by **monthly active users (MAU)**.

MAUs accumulate throughout an account's [billing period](https://docs.mapbox.com/accounts/guides/invoices/#billing-period) and can be reviewed on the account's [statistics page](https://docs.mapbox.com/accounts/guides/statistics/). Since we do not collect cross-device identifiers to protect end user privacy, we count each application or device as a separate MAU.

The type of MAUs displayed on an account's statistics page and associated [invoices](https://docs.mapbox.com/accounts/guides/invoices/) are determined by which versions of the Mapbox SDKs are installed in the applications.
