Tilesets-cli alias

mapbox tilesets-cli forwards everything verbatim to the separately installed Tilesets CLI — a different program from the tilesets commands.

When you install the Mapbox CLI, its installer checks whether tilesets is already on your system and, if it isn't, prompts you to install it too.

Under consideration

tilesets-cli is a proxy to a separately installed program today. Folding that functionality directly into mapbox itself is under consideration, but isn't a commitment.

mapbox tilesets-cli​

Proxy commands to the Mapbox Tilesets CLI (tilesets, installed separately). Everything after tilesets-cli is passed through to the tilesets binary untouched — including flags, so tilesets-cli --help shows the Tilesets CLI's own help rather than this one. If tilesets isn't installed, this command says how to install it instead of running.

The token is resolved the way every other mapbox command does — flag, then MAPBOX_ACCESS_TOKEN, then credentials stored by mapbox auth login — and handed to tilesets in its environment, so a stored login carries over without exporting a token by hand. --use-login skips the environment step so a stored login outranks it. --output and --yes don't apply here — tilesets has its own flags; use --force/-f for its prompts. Set MAPBOX_TILESETS_CLI to run a tilesets that isn't on your PATH.

A couple of examples, to show the shape of it:

mapbox tilesets-cli list <USERNAME>
mapbox tilesets-cli upload-source <USERNAME> <SOURCE_ID> data.geojson.ld
